Rob prayed for thirty-five years for the Lord to send him to one place in the world:  Vicenza, Italy.  He had lived there as a teenager. He felt God was preparing him for Christian service. He kept fluent in Italian all those years, believing the Lord would return him to Vicenza.  

Much of this time was spent growing in his faith and in the Word. He led couples’ Bible studies, men’s Bible groups, and teenagers both in the United States and in Germany.  

Karen was active leading women’s studies, serving with Protestant Women of the Chapel, and teaching in Christian schools.   

Finally, after thirty-five years, Rob considered the Lord had other plans for his life. He stopped praying about Vicenza and told the Lord he would trust Him to show where he was to minister. He and Karen have been active in a Christian ranch horse ministry for over 11 years.

In September 2005, a Cadence International staff member asked him to consider operating a Cadence Hospitality House. Karen and Rob had often been drawn to Cadence, moved by the organization’s love for God’s Word and for the military.

Today, Rob and Karen are the directors of the Vicenza Hospitality House serving the Army at Caserma Carlo Ederle and serving alongside SETAF chapels.
