About the Bachalis

Matthew and Jill met on a short-term summer project with Campus Crusade for Christ and were married one year later on June 13, 1992. They have four children:  Elijah, Emma, Henry, and Noah.  Since 1994, the Bachali’s have been involved in vocational ministry through church and camp work. Matthew has been a youth pastor, adult ministries pastor, camp director, and most recently the Director of Operations at Horn Creek Conference Grounds in Westcliffe, Colorado. 

Jill has her Bachelors degree in Nursing from Seattle Pacific University and worked at Phoenix Baptist Hospital for three years. She is currently a stay-at-home mom and enjoys being the substitute nurse at the local school. Matthew has his BA in Mathematics/Education from the University of Northern Colorado as well as his MDiv in Leadership Development from Phoenix Seminary. 

Matthew will be taking a one-year leave of absence from his leadership position at Cadence International headquarters to fill the director role at the Lighthouse in Yokosuka, Japan. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the ministry near Yokosuka Naval Base (the largest U.S. naval base in the Western-Pacific) while bridging the gap for long-term missionaries who will arrive in the summer of 2013. The Bachalis will take over the ministry July 1, 2012 and return June 30, 2013
