About the Fields Family
Jeff and Jeannen have been married for over 22 years and have three children, Jeffery (20), Taylor (17), and Aaron (15). Jeff and Jeannen first became involved with Cadence through a Hospitality House in Schweinfurt, Germany, in 1992. After experiencing the “home away from home” atmosphere, small-group Bible studies, and authentic relationships at the Hospitality House, they entered a life-long pursuit of God and His purpose for their lives. Following 22 years as an Army Ranger and Helicopter Pilot, Jeff retired from the Army in January 2007 and then served as a small-groups pastor at Hillcrest Baptist Church near Fort Rucker, AL, for the next 2 ½ years.
In the spring of 2009, God led the Fields to move back to Hawaii where He began to remind them of the tremendous spiritual needs in the military community. Jeff and Jeannen accepted an invitation to join the Cadence family as Hospitality House missionaries in April 2010. For the next year, Jeff continued working as a simulations training operations manager with a DoD contractor while he and Jeannen hosted small groups in their home and served the Schofield Barracks (HI) Chapel community.
Jeff’s passion is ‘making disciples’ through small-group Bible studies, men’s accountability groups, one-on-one discipleship, hiking, and hunting birdies (on the golf course). Jeannen loves being a wife and mom, leading ladies’ Bible studies, cooking and baking, and has an incredible ability to make people feel welcomed and 'at home'. Jeff and Jeannen love spending quality family time together and sharing their lives, home and the gospel with soldiers and their families.
In the Spring of 2011, the Fields family relocated back to the Savannah area in order to focus on developing prayer and financial partners in preparation for full-time ministry as Hospitality House missionaries with Cadence. During this season, Jeff and Jeannen will both seek training and equipping in the area of pastoral counseling and discipleship while continuing to reach out to the military families in their community. They are continually amazed by God's faithfulness and humbled by the mission He has called them to.
