Rick was introduced to Cadence International by Jim Howard, former board president. Jim explained the ministry to him and the opportunity to serve. Rick believed it was a great opportunity to be part of a ministry he believes God is honoring.

Rick is currently employed with Colorado Christian University as the Director of Human Resources. He earned his Masters degree in Human Resource Management and holds Senior Professional Certification status through the Society of Human Resources. Rick has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources where he has spent 17 years in private industry and more than 10 working with Christian ministries. In addition to working as the Director of HR, Rick has been a corporate trainer, International Human Resource Manager, Employment Director, and a Compensation/Benefits Director. He prays that God will allow his Human Resource experience to help further the ministry at Cadence.

Rick is a member of New Life Church. He and his wife taught Sunday school for more than 15 years and he served as the chairperson for the Personnel Committee and was on the Pastors Advisory team. Rick and his wife Donita have been married twenty years and have two grown children and two grandchildren.
