Late January, 2012...
This update comes as Bruce and Cathy prepare to leave Korea, returning to California in preparation for our next assignment. Having served the Osan AB community has been a joyful and humbling adventure ... we leave Osan very glad that we came.
The Gilberts were invited to join the Cadence cause in April 2010, serving briefly in Grafenwoehr, Germany, later that summer followed more recently by our seven month stint in Korea.
After thirty years in the marketplace and myriad local church responsibilities, Bruce was a 2009 graduate of Multnomah Biblical Seminary with an MA in pastoral studies emphasizing spiritual formation. In between Cadence assignments, Bruce invests his time in reading, writing and discipling relationships.
Cathy served eighteen years in various leadership roles with Bible Study Fellowship and is a graduate of California State University San Francisco with a BA in Health Education. In between Cadence assignments, and after decades of heroically serving her family, Cathy brings her unique experience, skills and compassion to serving special needs students in the Paradise School District
Bruce and Cathy have two sons. John's faith became sight in 2002 at age twenty-five after suffering the realities of Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. Alan, now thirty two, and his bride Paige are pursuing their dreams in Chico, California. Alan is a Police Officer in Red Bluff, CA., and Paige is an account manager with a local marketing firm. Alan and Paige are expecting our first grandchild June '12 ,,, of course, we're thrilled!
