Biography of Ray & Char Hauser
Ray and Char were born and raised in California. In 1968, a week after Ray graduated from navy boot camp, they were married. They have one son, Michael. Ray and Char have served with Cadence International for more than 20 years sharing the gospel and their lives with the military community. Fourteen of those years were spent in Japan. In 1979, after Ray completed his B.A. in Christian Education at Biola University, they moved to northern Japan to direct the ministry at the Misawa Hospitality House. In 1987, while on home assignment, Ray completed his M.A. in Christian Education at Talbot Seminary and was ordained by the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. In 1989 they moved back to Japan to direct the Yokosuka Servicemen’s Center, ministering to the U.S. Seventh Fleet at Yokosuka Naval Facilities. In 1994, Ray was asked to be on the Leadership Team of Cadence International, directing the Public Ministries Department. While serving in that position, Ray developed and implemented the Cadence Banquet Ministry, raising tens of thousands of dollars for special projects within the mission. During this time Char was able to complete her degree. In November of 1999, Ray and Char established, and are presently serving at, the Windward Hospitality House, a Cadence ministry in Kailua for those stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) Kaneohe Bay.
