Ministry Focus: Women in uniform are one of the fastest growing groups in the military, currently numbering over 300,000. They experience the daily stress and rigors of military life, separations, loneliness, fear, and insecurities. Many are seeking female friends in their male dominated environment and ways to cope with these issues. Peer pressure and the temptation to get these needs met in unhealthy ways are pervasive. Cadence is focusing on women in uniform as one of their five strategic groups to reach within the next two decades.
Weekly Schedule:
Sunday 11:00: Ramstein Contemporary Chapel Service; Lunch
Tuesday 9:15: PWOC Bible Study at Kapaun

Ministry Purpose: To assist any woman in the military community in connecting with and strengthening her relationship with God and other women. Cadence Women’s Ministries seeks to shepherd and equip women by providing a welcoming and safe home, Bible studies, dinners, one-on-one meetings, and outings and activities. We desire to facilitate a gathering where women are loved, renewed, and mutually encouraged.
Sharyn’s Story: We all need to be loved. We all need to understand how much God loves us. Those two needs were met for me on Good Friday in 1970, when I understood that Jesus Christ died for my sins, and I entered into a personal relationship with Him. In 1975, at age 19, I joined the Navy as a yeoman and was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan. In Japan, I was far from home, stripped of the familiar, lonely, and seeking friends. A friend invited me to attend the Cadence Hospitality House, and it became my “home away from home.” I began studying the Bible seriously, memorizing Bible verses, and growing. I committed my life to God for full-time Christian service and went on to graduate from Multnomah University with a BA in Biblical Literature. I worked for 16 years at Focus on the Family before joining Cadence in 2000. I returned to Yokosuka, Japan for 4 years, conducting a women’s ministry program at The Lighthouse. Since 2005, I have been serving in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
