The Ingalls' Story

In 1977, as a young Marine, Larry was led to Christ through the persistent Christian witness of a fellow Marine named Wayne.  Larry's conversion to Christ was in his own words a "radical, life-changing event.  I am eternally thankful for Wayne's unwavering testimony to me at such a pivotal time in my life."

While stationed overseas Larry was introduced to a network of missionary families who lived all throughout Asia and ministered to him and his fellow Marines wherever they were deployed.  Through these missionaries' pastoral care and discipleship, Larry's fledgling faith was strengthened and equipped so he could thrive in his Christian life.  These missionaries were all members of Cadence International.  This is where Larry gained his burden and passion for ministry to our military.

As a student at Biola University, Linda also made the decision to devote her life to service in missions.  Larry and Linda met at their church in '80, were married in '83, and Larry went back to college.

Larry and Linda were appointed as missionaries with Cadence in '85.  Their first assignment was ministering to the Army and Air Force in the Panama Canal Zone. After some more time at school, in '94 they relocated to Japan with their one year old son, Daniel, and started an eight year ministry season with the Navy's 7th fleet sailors in Yokosuka, Japan. Their second child, Christina, was born in '96 while in Japan.

In '03 the Ingalls began a six year tenure at Cadence International headquarters where Larry served in mission leadership as Vice President of Human Resources.

In '05 Larry and Linda had the joy of fulfilling a long time dream of traveling to China to adopt Sarah Li Ann, their third child.

The Ingalls are presently living in eastern Kansas where they serve the Soldiers and their families who are stationed at Fort Riley.  Through a mentorship, teaching, and home-style ministry model they are reaching out to Soldiers and their families with the love of Christ.

Larry is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute. His ministerial credentialing is with the Evangelical Free Church. His passion is teaching the Bible and mentoring men. Linda's joy is to serve others with her gift of hospitality through her home, and to encourage and mentor younger women. Linda also enjoys hosting women for teas. Daniel's love is leading worship with guitar, and Christina is a gifted childcare provider.

The heart of the Ingalls' ministry to our soldiers and their families is summed up in 1 Thessalonians 2:8... "We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our very lives as well because you had become so dear to us."

The Ingalls are financially funded by individuals, organizations and churches who believe in their ministry to the military. They are still in need of additional support. To partner with the Ingalls through financial support, go to the "Make a donation" button at the top of this page. Thank you!
