Richard was initially introduced to Cadence International in Yokosuka, Japan in 1990 and has continued to be involved with Cadence ever since.

Richard served 26 years in the US Navy after Law School.  Following retirement, he has worked for the District Attorney General in the 10th Judicial District Tennessee for 10 years.  He and his wife Elaine currently enjoy running their own Bed & Breakfast in Athens, Tennessee. They are also busy with a home church, a rehabilitation ministry, college ministry, and prayer groups.

Richard originally joined the Board in June of 1995.  He hopes his legal counsel and finance background will assist the Board.  Prayer is a passion of his and he desires that the Board will continue to bathe each and every detail in prayer to our Heavenly Father.  Richard is gifted in hospitality and giving and his prayer is God will use him in these areas also.

Richard and Elaine have three children, a son Brad and his wife Laura, son Greg and his wife Erin, and a daughter Eden.
