I can do all things through Christ my Lord. Phil. 4:13.
That has been my life verse since becoming a Christian. Guess I have always known there was a God, but not till I was 28 did I know He has a son and that Jesus came to earth to save the lost. I met my personal Savior in 1972 and started to teach high school Sunday school, where we all learned together. Later I helped start a teen center, started doing missions trips with teens, went to Eugene Bible College and received my BS in missions and youth ministry. The day after graduation I was on a Teen Missions bus to Florida where I served Him in 17 countries of the world working with youth.
When I was 62 years old I thought I heard Him say the military. Now how can that be, Lord. Never been there or done that! 4 years later I met a Cadence International man at a missions’ conference where we both were recruiting for our missions. We talked and the ball was rolling for working with military teens. I ended up being switched to YFC/MYM for almost 4 years working with OCF at their Spring Canyon Camp in the Rockies. I met one of Cadence’s office workers at a seminar and we talked in late 2010. I reapplied to Cadence and was put on loan from YFC/MYM to Cadence for a few months working at Fellowship Ranch in Missouri. Starting November 10th I was accepted to Cadence and asked if I’d serve in Japan for awhile helping the Bowdens. The Lord has placed in me a desire to reach souls for His Kingdom, and to encourage others in the Harvest Fields.
I have a family, a son Dale who is a sheriff in Calif., and a daughter Deborah who is an RN in Oregon. My kids have blessed me with 7 grandchildren, 2 of which say they want to join the military. Military families have a tough go in life and befriending them and having fellowship is a desire in my heart.
