The Thimells have served with Cadence International since 1983 when it was still called Overseas Christian Servicemen’s Centers in Panama, South Korea, and Germany as Hospitality House directors and as Europe field business manager.
 
In June 2000 Eric was reassigned to Cadence Headquarters to assist the Controller in the Finance Department, working specifically to care for technical issues concerning missionary and headquarters financial reporting and handle legal and government issues affecting the non-profit status of Cadence. He was also responsible for maintaining the mission database and the financial software used by our field missionaries.
 
In a major headquarters reorganization in 2004, Eric moved to the Information Technology Resource Group (ITRG) reporting to the VP for Finance here at Cadence. He kepts the accounting and donor software up to date and coordinated the integration of new software initiatives into the existing architecture.  He was the only full-time member of the ITRG.

Eric also built, repaired, and install computers and workstation software and cared for other headquarters technical concerns such as telephones and network hardware and database issues.  He also coordinated the maintenance on our hosted servers.  In the fall of 2011, he upgraded the entire fleet of headquarters' desktop computers with 10 years newer technology and coordinated moving the phone system forward 30 years.

In March 2012, Eric and Janet began a long overdue Home Assignment scheduled to last for six months.  During this time they will rest, recuperate and report to supporters as well as recalibrate in order to seek the Lord's guidance on their next assignment with Cadence.

On the home front, our son Ben just completed a 10 month tour with a Marine Expeditionary unit in the Mediterranean and Mideast waters while aboard the USS Mesa Verde.  He will be homeported at Camp Pendleton beginning in July.  Our married daughter Elizabeth is still at Ohio State University and having completed her master's degree is now working on her PhD.  Janet continues to serve as a corporate chaplain and Area Team leader with Marketplace Chaplains (http://mchapusa.com/).  Eric also serves as an elder and is a member of the Men’s Ministry leadership team at their local church.
