The hospitality house is a place for military personnel who are far from home, family, and friends to feel the warmth of a “home away from home.” The Wootens offer Bible studies, home-cooked meals, and off-duty activities as well as a close family environment. The Fort Hood military community, with over 100,000 people, including 46,000 soldiers, is the largest military installation in the world. Approximately 16,000 are single soldiers. You can see how strategic a ministry like Soldiers’ Hospitality House is to this community. The tremendous size of the base adds stability to any long-term plans Cadence has for ministry in the area.

Biography of Ken & Judi Wooten

Ken and Judi Wooten have been missionaries with Cadence International since February 1992. Ken pastored churches for the first fourteen years of full-time vocational ministry. In 1992 they resigned from the pastorate to start deputation for hospitality house ministry and became the directors of the Soldiers’ Hospitality House in Killeen/Ft. Hood, Texas, in June 1994. Ken and Judi have been married for 25 years and have six children, ranging in age from 23 to 3, and one grandson. The Wootens are trusting the Lord to relocate the SHH within the Killeen area with larger facilities and more acreage because of the growth of the ministry. Please join us in prayer about our children, our ministry and our relocation.
